About Svetlana Papazov

Svetlana Papazov, D.Min. is happily married to her husband Michael. They have two beautiful children: daughter, Gabriella and son, Bryan.

Svetlana is the lead pastor of Real Life Church. She is a church planter, entrepreneur and an executive coach who was born to a Christian family in communist Bulgaria, then later immigrated to the United States. She deeply cares about the holistic development of communities and has a heart to shape world influencers.

Svetlana’s upbringing, diverse education, and work experience have intensified her passion to see cultures transform for Christ. She has successfully started and led four small businesses, taught at colleges and universities, pastored in various capacities and church planted.

Svetlana holds a Doctorate of Ministry in Leadership from AGTS, along with two master’s degrees: one in landscape architecture and another in theology. She is an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God denomination. Svetlana has served as spiritual formation pastor to a fast growing, multi-ethnic church in Texas, as executive and teaching pastor to a culturally diverse church in Maryland, and now as lead pastor in Virginia, to a unique church plant that has taken faith into the marketplace. She is a strategic thinker who empowers Christ followers to work toward transformation and restoration of communities.

While in Maryland, Svetlana established a Faith and Community Partnership Prototype, working with the St. Mary’s County School District to provide job readiness training and resources for parents and students. Svetlana viewed her church’s initiative as a way in which believers can live life in their community, caring about their neighbors, and extending a helping hand in times of need.

Svetlana believes that our deepest joy and first responsibility as human beings and followers of Christ is to be attentive to the soul-stirring of the Holy Spirit, so we can partner with God to co-create futures with him,For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose” Phil. 2:13.
