Dr. Tricia Reagan brings her insights and experiences as the Founder and CEO of Syncroz Language Solutions and college Spanish professor at Randolph-Macon College to River City Express Network. With a passion to make communication possible and seamless between speakers and writers from any two distinct languages, she founded Syncroz Language Solutions in 2012. Dr. Reagan’s interest as an interpreter began even earlier – in 2004 – when she started to use her Spanish to help people who were struggling to communicate at the DMV, the doctor’s office, or even the grocery store. She began working as a professional interpreter and vowed to open her own company one day to increase the impact and reach of language services in in the Richmond Metro area, Virginia, and beyond.
Dr. Reagan is also a teacher at heart. She is a licensed interpreter trainer for Syncroz, but she is also passionate about teaching social change, human rights and resistance movements in media and culture, community-based learning, and service-learning opportunities. She is a Full Professor at Randolph-Macon College where she specializes in 20th and 21st-century Latin American literature, culture, and film. She has published two books, The Postmodern Storyteller and Deconstructing Paradise as well as multiple articles. Most recently, she conducts research on undocumented immigration to the United States. Her current book project is titled, Destination Nemesis: The Portrayal of Children in Films of Latino Immigration (2001-2020).
Dr. Reagan is the mother of three children. She loves music, Latin dancing, tough workouts, travel, cafés, good books, the outdoors, and full days spent in pajamas.
