Responsible for raising awareness of and participation in scholarship and grant programs offered locally by RCEN and nationally the national scholarship fund of ABWA. The Committee helps raise funds for donations to the national scholarship fund and RCEN professional development grants to help members attend ABWA conferences. Community Engagement Committee
Amy Grieves – President-Elect
RCEN participates in several community involvement activities throughout the year as a way to give back and be involved in our local community. These projects give our members an opportunity to a) make a contribution, b) interact with one another in a different environment and c) develop new skills. These projects are a benefit to RCEN as they give us an opportunity to attract new members and gain additional exposure in the community. Kim Eley – VP Communication
Kimberley W. Eley lives in Prince George, VA, with her wonderful husband/BFF, a four-legged furry child, and even though she snorts when she laughs, has lots of wonderful friends and family members who will actually spend time with her in public. Kim is passionate about helping others become their best selves – as a writing coach, publisher & life tech (life coach)! Jill Gayle – VP Finance
The Finance Committee and the VP of Finance develop an annual budget for the Network and present it to the Board of Directors for final approval. The Committee reviews the budget mid-year and reports findings and recommendations, as appropriate. The Committee manages advance and day-of meeting registrations, accepts payments, and prepares attendance reports. The Committee maintains financial information in the ABWA WIN library and assists the VP of Finance with managing the Network’s finances. Contact VP Finance, Jill Gayle at email@example.com.
Kelly Gannon – VP Marketing
Kelly Gannon has been a member since 2017. She is an investment advisor representative with Foresters Financial. She offers personalized service combined with a long-term approach and fresh thinking to provide clients with financial solutions, guidance and tools. With degrees from Virginia Tech and VCU, Kelly is also an Adjunct Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, teaching research methods and fundamental account planning skills. Cheryl Pellegrino – VP Membership
A member of River City Express Network for 1 year and wanted to get involved the organization after her first visit. Cheryl is a Benefit Specialist with a passion to help education people about being better healthcare consumers. She lives in Glen Allen, VA with her husband and best friend along with their two Yorkie-Poos, Sydney and Sophie. Her favorite things to do are visiting her daughter in Florida and Zumba. Ginny Youngblood – VP Programs
VP of Programming is primarily responsible for identifying and securing speakers/facilitators to deliver relevant programming at each of the scheduled meetings. Act as the primary contact and hostess for the speakers, both prior to and at meetings and events, gather required marketing information from speakers and forward to appropriate parties. Cindy Mims – VP Resource Development
Cindy has been a member of ABWA since 1987. She was the charter president of RCEN and has been an active member of the network since then. Cindy is Vice President of Community Development at BB&T Bank where she implements the bank’s community development program initiatives by working closely with nonprofit organizations, municipalities and others.
