River City ReadsSpeaker Recommendations From time to time, our speakers and program presenters offer educational resources and reading recommendations. We are pleased to share those recommendations and resources here. At the request of a number of members, Robin Smith has provided a copy of the Give to Grow overview of her presentation at the June meeting: You Give Girl: Giving Back as Part of a Business Strategy. Help and Hope for Those with Anxiety Disorders was shared by the February panel on reducing stress. January's presenter, Angelia Fritter, Founder and President of The Fritter Group, shared an Estimated Monthly Budget worksheet to help with personal and business financial planning. The November speaker, Doug Lucy, President of Allegro Consultants, presented a number of recommendations for free and nearly-free websites and software for individuals and small businesses. He has shared his presentation slides and a resource list. In June, David Tesroet of FranklinCovey shared the Time Matrix, a tool designed to help you understand exactly where you are spending your time and to help you filter out meaningless urgencies. The model was developed as part of Stephen R. Covey's bestseller, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and can be found as part of a comprehensive online assessment. Olivia Acree and Caitlin Shear from A Sorted Affair offered participants in the May network meeting a handout of Our 5 Favorite Books. Answering an audience question, the members of the Women at the Top panel in March suggested a number of books that were valuable to them. In case you missed them, particular titles and authors mentioned were: Ayn Rand, John Steinbeck, The Book of Common Prayer and Profiles in Courage. Laura Posey has provided a motivational reading/listening list as recommended in her presentation at the February "Best Business Practices" panel. Click here for Resource List from the January "Communications 101"RCEN program presented by Casey Quinlan and Sue Brown. November speaker Leesa Wilcher has made available the reading list suggested in her November presentation "Act Like What You Want to Be."
